I'm more than happy that the second single on this years Singles a project is from Cherry Glazerr. The female led, Los Angeles band has done more than shock the world over the past year growing to be a household name in the indie rock scene of Southern California. they bring their own twist to high energy punker rock. And with huge success from both their albums, Haxel Princess and Papa Cremp, plus currently being on a world tour, I see nothing but great things to come in this band's future.
On this song they capture the sound of a house party in suburban SoCal perfectly. Just listening to this track on repeat is enough to entice a moshpit from the most serene individual. It has that "fuck the establishment" feel to it that just makes you want to get up and break something. The guitar rifts are hard and hit you in the face as soon as the songs starts. The heavy reverb give it a nostalgic feel and the vocals are so garage band it's beautiful. It reminds me of a mix between Patti Smith and the Dead Kennedys. I would totally grab some speakers and take this song with me out to shred someone's drained pool if I knew how to skate. It's worth more than just a listen; make sure to check it out. Stay tuned for more coverage of these glorious 19 weeks. Thank you adult swim.
